Konigsee is a lake in Berchtesgaden, Bavaria, Germany.

Where is the lake in this picture?
Well, it was taken on a trail an hour of walking from the lake, in a valley surrounded on all sides by Bavarian alps, an area known as the Eiskapelle. The lake is just down stream. :-)

this is a great shot with a good composition. the image is very sharp and has a great overall contrast. The upper side of the image is well exposed with great contrast/clarity in the clouds which makes it really dramatic. However the image is suffering from some technical problems. Due to the fact of low shutter speed and slightly off timing, the lower part of image is fairly underexposed. there is a loss of detail in the dark areas specially visible in the rocks and trees. This is also a result of over-boosting the contrast and clarity in post production process. This problem could have been solved with the use of longer shutter speed or bracketing the photo while the shot was being taken.
Overall this is a fairly good, original and dramatic image with some small technical difficulty.
